How do I use the WPF graphical interface?

It couldn't be simpler:

  • Double-click lancez_WinFast-V3
  • Let the interface load (a few seconds)
  • Browse the 5 tabs:
    • Installation: select your ISO, tick the options, click Start
    • Diagnostics: click Run full diagnostic
    • Backup: tick the items to back up, choose a folder, click Créer la sauvegarde
    • Cleanup & Emergency: clean up or restore from Windows.old if needed
    • Log: view the logs in real time or export them

All buttons are labelled with icons such as [O], [F], [?], etc. to guide your actions.

What should I do if the installation fails?

Don't panic:

  1. Go to the Nettoyage & Urgence tab
  2. Click RESTAURER DEPUIS WINDOWS.OLD
  3. Confirm the restoration – the PC will restart automatically
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the restoration

This operation cannot be undone once started – make sure you have backed up your data.

Can I install Windows 11 without a TPM or with an old CPU?

Yes, via the Installation tab:

  • Tick Contourner les vérifications de compatibilité
  • Confirm the security pop-up
  • The Compatibility module will automatically apply the necessary bypasses

Bypasses are logged and can be undone via system restore.

Where are backups stored?

By default:

  • In the backups folder next to the script
  • You can change the location before starting the backup
  • Each backup is compressed into a ZIP file with a name that includes the date and time

Backups are verified via SHA256 to guarantee their integrity.

🔧 Quick troubleshooting

❌ The interface won't launch

  1. Right-click → Run with PowerShell
  2. If blocked:
    Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -Scope Process
    then
    .\WinFastV3-GUI.ps1
  3. Make sure you are an administrator

❌ The "Start" button is greyed out

  • Check that you have selected a valid ISO
  • Make sure there is enough disk space
  • Run a diagnostic – if the score is < 60%, tick "Contourner les vérifications"

❌ The backup fails

  • Check the disk space of the backup folder
  • Temporarily close any antivirus software
  • Re-run the script as administrator
