DJ VIDEOS is a professional web application for managing YouTube video playlists at events, parties and entertainment sessions. Modern interface, advanced controls and complete automation.
Compatible with Windows 10 & 11 only - Native PowerShell application
Operating system:
DJ VIDEOS is designed exclusively for Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit). The PowerShell server does not work on Mac, Linux or 32-bit systems.
Important file:
The sauvegarde.json file contains all your playlists. Remember to make regular backup copies of it!
Setup Wizard
Simplified Graphical Interface:
The setup wizard guides you step by step through configuring your YouTube API and your email settings.
How to Open the Wizard
Launch DJ VIDEOS with cliquez ici.bat
In the main interface, look for the Configuration or Email & API button
Click it - a new window opens with the wizard
Good to know:
The wizard can be opened at any time, even while a playlist is playing. Your changes are saved automatically.
1 - YouTube API Configuration
Required for search:
Without a YouTube API key, you will not be able to use the built-in search function. You will need to add videos manually using their URL.
Why an API key?
YouTube requires a free API key to allow searches from third-party applications. It is free, has no time limit, and takes 5 minutes to obtain.
Getting your YouTube API key:
Open your browser and go to console.cloud.google.com
Sign in with your Google account (Gmail)
At the top, click "Select a project" then "New project"
Once the project is created, in the left-hand menu: APIs & Services - Library
In the search bar, type "YouTube Data API v3"
Click "YouTube Data API v3" in the results
Click the blue "Enable" button
Once it is enabled, click "Create credentials" (or go to the menu: Credentials)
Click "+ Create credentials" at the top
Choose "API key"
A key is generated! It looks like this: AIzaSyB1234abcd...
Copy this key (Ctrl+C or the copy button)
Setting it up in DJ VIDEOS:
In the setup wizard, in the "YouTube API" section
Paste your API key into the "YouTube API key" field
Click "Test connection" to check that it works
If the test is successful, click "Save"
You're all set!
You can now use YouTube search directly in DJ VIDEOS. Free quota: around 100 searches per day, which is more than enough.
2 - SMTP (Email) Configuration - OPTIONAL
What is it for?
SMTP configuration lets you send by email the list of videos your guests "liked" during your party. If you do not use this feature, you can skip this section.
Use case:
Imagine you are organising a wedding. The guests use the remote control to "like" their favourite songs. At the end of the evening, the couple automatically receives an email with the full list of the 20 most-liked songs. Perfect for creating a keepsake playlist!
What you need:
A Gmail email account (or another SMTP provider)
An "app password" (not your usual Gmail password)
Setting up with Gmail (recommended):
Step 1: Enable 2-step verification
Go to myaccount.google.com
Left-hand menu: Security
"Signing in to Google" section: click 2-Step Verification
Follow the instructions to enable it (it is free and makes your account more secure)
Step 2: Create an app password
Still in Security
"Signing in to Google" section: look for App passwords
You will be asked for your Gmail password - enter it
Setup complete!
You can now send emails with the liked videos. Sending takes a single click from the DJ VIDEOS interface.
Other email providers:
Outlook / Hotmail:
Server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
Port: 587
Use your Outlook email address and password
Yahoo:
Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 587
Also requires an "app password"
Backup and Security
Your data is protected:
Your API keys and passwords are encrypted locally on your computer. No one else has access to them, not even E-MED-CYBER.
Important:
If you reinstall DJ VIDEOS or change computer, you will need to reconfigure your settings (YouTube API and SMTP). Make a note of your keys somewhere safe!
Launching
ONLY ONE METHOD: Double-click cliquez ici.bat It automatically starts the server + browser!

Event System
Automation: DJ VIDEOS can automatically trigger a playlist at a given time (or a "date + time" event such as New Year's Eve).
1) Simple events (time HH:MM)
Each playlist can be scheduled for a given time (format HH:MM). When the time matches, DJ VIDEOS switches to that playlist and starts it.
How it works
Automatic check roughly every 30 seconds
If another playlist is already playing, it is stopped and then the event starts
The event is triggered if the playlist contains at least 1 video
Accessing the settings
In the playlist list, click the Settings icon next to a playlist to display its options (including scheduling).
Available settings
Enable/Disable playlist scheduling
Time (HH:MM): e.g. 20:30
Badge: the scheduled time is displayed next to the playlist
Important
The computer must have the correct time (Windows clock) and stay on (not in sleep mode) for triggers to be reliable.
2) Special event (date + time)
DJ VIDEOS includes a special event based on an exact date and time (e.g. New Year's Eve / countdown).
New Year's Eve example
Schedule a date/time (e.g. 31/12 at 23:59)
At the set time, DJ VIDEOS syncs the event and automatically starts the "Event" playlist
Tip
For a perfect event: put a short sequence in "Event" (countdown, fireworks, signature music), then go back to your normal playlists.
Best Practices
Wedding
"First dance" - 15:30 (4 min)
"Opening of the ball" - 16:00 (120 min)
DJ Night
"Warm-up" - 20:00 (60 min)
"Peak" - 21:00 (120 min)
"Final" - 23:00 (15 min)
Keep your "event" playlists short: 1 to 5 videos max
Test once during the day (e.g. +5 minutes) to check that the trigger works
To avoid surprises: avoid scheduling 2 playlists for the same minute
Quick Troubleshooting
Checklist
1) Windows time is correct (HH:MM)
2) Scheduled playlist is ticked
3) Time entered in the right format (e.g. 21:00)
4) Playlist is not empty (at least 1 video)
5) The application stays open (browser/server)
Multiple Management
Several events across different playlists
Chronological order
No overlap
Priority given to the event in progress
Share by Email
Goal: let each user (remote control) send their list of "liked" videos by email.
"Like" Function
From the remote control, press Like during playback to save a video to your favourites.
Where are the likes stored?
They are saved automatically by the system (linked to your session).
Send your list by email
On the remote control, click Send by email
Enter your email address (if requested)
Confirm: your request has been taken into account
The system prepares and sends the email automatically
Good to know
Sending emails requires a valid SMTP configuration. Without an SMTP configuration, likes are still saved but the email is not sent.
What the email contains
A clear subject line (e.g. Videos liked on DJ VIDEOS)
The date it was sent
A numbered list of the liked videos (title + link)
A closing message (DJ VIDEOS signature)
Subject: Videos liked on DJ VIDEOS
Hello,
Here are the videos I liked:
1. Video title 1
https://youtube.com/watch?v=ID1
2. Video title 2
https://youtube.com/watch?v=ID2
Enjoy the music!
Sent from DJ VIDEOS
Best Practices
Ask guests to enter their first name + email just once (it is remembered)
Encourage guests to like only the "real gems": the email will be easier to read
If a guest changes phone, they can simply enter their email again
Troubleshooting
No email received
Check your SMTP configuration and your spam folder, and make sure the list of likes is not empty.
"Anonyme"
Fill in your first name and email in the remote control's user window.
Likes that seem to be lost
Likes are tied to your profile (IP/session). Reconnect to the same server.
Required Configuration
SMTP configuration required:
For email sending to work, you must first set up your SMTP settings in the configuration wizard.
How do I do it?
Click Configuration in the DJ VIDEOS interface
Follow the instructions in the "Email Configuration (SMTP)" section
Use Gmail (recommended) or your preferred email provider
Test sending in the wizard to check that everything works
Use cases:
Share your musical discoveries with your friends, send guests the playlist of the evening as a keepsake, keep a record of the songs that made an event memorable!
Export / Import
Full backup: export your playlists to transfer them, archive them or share them.
Export
Click Export
A JSON file is downloaded (name: playlists_YYYY-MM-DD.json)
The file contains your playlists (titles + URLs)
Good to know
The export is a readable file (JSON). You can keep it as a backup or edit it (with care).
Import
Click Import then choose a .json file
Confirmation: the import replaces your current playlists
The playlists are reloaded and saved
Warning
The import replaces your existing playlists. Export first if you want to keep your current setup.
Compatibility and security
The file must be a valid JSON
If an essential playlist (e.g. "Depart") is missing, DJ VIDEOS recreates it automatically
After an import, the scheduling settings are reset for safety (you can configure them again)
Naming tip
Use numbers (01, 02, 03...) to keep the order clear and avoid hunting around in the middle of the event.
Playlist order & "Play all" mode
You can arrange the order of your playlists and start continuous playback (all playlists that are not scheduled and not empty).
Keep your "event" playlists scheduled separately
Put background playlists in "Play all": warm-up - peak - final
Effective searching (YouTube)
Be specific: "disco 70s" rather than "music"
Year: "dance 2024"
Qualifiers: "official video", "live", "remix"
English: more results
Mood: "chill lounge bar", "wedding entrance"
Tip
Prefer "simple" YouTube links (youtu.be or youtube.com/watch) to avoid errors.
Tips for a "stress-free evening"
Volume
Test the volume 10 minutes before guests arrive. Leave some headroom: it always goes up during the evening.
Wi-Fi
Smartphone + PC on the same Wi-Fi. Avoid 4G tethering at the last minute.
Test
Test: playback, pause, next, volume, full screen, likes, email.
Quick Troubleshooting
Can't connect the remote control?
1) Same Wi-Fi (PC + smartphone)
2) Correct IP (e.g. 192.168.1.117:8080)
3) Server running (PowerShell window open)
4) Windows firewall: port allowed (8080..8085 if multi-port)
Event not triggering?
1) Windows time is correct
2) Time in HH:MM format (e.g. 21:00)
3) Scheduled playlist ticked
4) Playlist not empty
Shortcuts
Double-click on name - Rename playlist
Enter in search - Start search
Esc in TV Mode - Exit

Queue & Suggestions NEW
Interactivity: Your guests can suggest videos from their smartphones! Suggestions are added to the queue and played in order.
How It Works
During a party, guests connected to the remote control can suggest YouTube videos. These suggestions are added to a shared queue ("Suggested videos" category) and are played automatically after the current video.
Playback order: First come, first served (FIFO). Each suggestion is played in the order it arrived.
How do you suggest a video?
The guest opens the remote control on their smartphone
They search for a YouTube video or paste a link
They click "Suggest"
The video is added to the queue
A message confirms it has been added
Anti-Spam Protection
DJ VIDEOS includes a complete system to prevent abuse:
Limit per user
Each guest has a suggestion quota (configurable). Once it is reached, they have to wait.
Cooldown between suggestions
Mandatory waiting time between two suggestions from the same user.
Duplicate detection
A video already in the queue cannot be added twice.
Overall queue limit
Maximum number of videos waiting, to avoid endless queues.
Queue Management

Spam score for each user
Latest activity
Tip: Set reasonable limits (e.g. 3 suggestions per person, 2 minutes' cooldown) to ensure fair sharing between all guests.
Automatic Alternation NEW
DJ VIDEOS intelligently alternates between suggested videos and random videos from your playlists:
Typical sequence:
1. Video suggested by a guest
2. Random video from your playlists
3. Next suggested video
4. Random video, and so on
This alternation ensures that your carefully prepared playlists remain present, even when guests are very active with their suggestions!

Do not share the QR code on social media
Use a secure WiFi network (WPA2/WPA3)
Change the default passwords before the event
Encrypted Data
Protection of sensitive data:
Your YouTube API keys and SMTP passwords are encrypted with AES-256 on your computer. No one else has access to them.
Voice Commands NEW
Hands-free: Control DJ VIDEOS by voice from your smartphone remote. Ideal when your hands are full!
Activation
The first time DJ VIDEOS starts, a window asks whether you want to enable voice commands. This option requires a special configuration.
Requirements:
HTTPS connection (configured automatically)
Compatible browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari)
Allow access to the microphone
Usage
Open the remote on your smartphone
Tap the "Enable microphone" button
Allow microphone access if prompted
Speak! Say your commands naturally
The system recognises your voice and carries out the action
You can prefix your commands with "OK DJ" for greater accuracy:
"OK DJ next"
"OK DJ volume 80"
"OK DJ play disco"
But the keyword is not mandatory - you can simply say "next".
HTTPS Configuration
Voice commands require a secure connection (HTTPS) because modern browsers block microphone access on insecure connections.
Automatic configuration:
If you enable voice mode, DJ VIDEOS automatically sets up a local certificate and opens the required HTTPS port.
Note: Users will need to accept the self-signed certificate in their browser (a normal warning message).
Disable Voice Mode
To switch modes (enable/disable voice commands):
Stop DJ VIDEOS
Delete the file data/voice_mode_choice.txt
Restart DJ VIDEOS
You will be asked the question again
Troubleshooting: If the microphone does not work, check that you are using the HTTPS URL (not HTTP), that the microphone is allowed in the browser permissions, and that your phone is not in silent mode.
Automatic Alternation NEW
Smart balancing: DJ VIDEOS automatically alternates between videos suggested by your guests and random videos from your playlists for a perfectly balanced party!
How the Alternation Works
The interleaving system works as follows:
A video suggested by a guest is played
Then a random video from your playlists
Then a new suggested video
And so on...
Advantage: Your guests get involved while you keep the atmosphere you have prepared in your playlists!
Suggested Videos
Guests can suggest videos via the remote:
Built-in YouTube search
Added to the shared queue
First come, first served
Built-in anti-spam protection
Random Videos
Guests can also request a random video:
"Random Video" button
On the remote, guests can request a random video drawn from your playlists.
Dynamic cooldown
The delay between two random requests varies with the number of connected users to ensure fairness.
Priority
Suggested videos always take priority
Random videos are slotted in between suggestions
If there are no suggestions: random videos play one after another
If there are no requests: the normal playlist carries on
Delays and Protection
To prevent abuse:
Minimum delay between 2 random videos overall
Personal cooldown after each request
Only one request per user in the queue
DJ tip: The alternation ensures that your carefully prepared playlists stay present even when guests are very active!
Visual Effects NEW
Atmosphere: 11 spectacular visual effects, controllable from the remote, to liven up your party!
Accessing the Effects
Open the remote on your smartphone
Tap the "Effects" button (star icon)
