Prepare a bootable USB stick:Use the Rufus tool to create a bootable USB stick from the ISO:
- Select the ISO you downloaded.
- Set the boot options to UEFI or BIOS depending on your hardware. (GPT or MBR for an old PC)
- Installing Tiny11:Start your PC from the USB stick (press Del, F2, F4, F6 or Esc at start-up to enter the BIOS and select USB as the first boot option, then save and restart).
- Follow the steps of the installation wizard.
After installation, you will land on the desktop with almost no drivers installed. Don't panic: you will at least need to install the one for your Wi-Fi/LAN card so you can download Windows updates and the missing drivers.
Type device manager in the search bar, right-click your computer's name and select add drivers. Point to the USB stick that contains your drivers and it will install them by itself.
Do this at the very least to install the driver for your Wi-Fi or LAN network card.
- There is no browser either: type cmd in the search bar and open it as administrator. Type winget install edge and confirm with the Enter key, and Windows will install Edge for you.
- Type Update in the search bar and select Windows Update.
- Run the Windows updates, without forgetting to click on the optional updates to download the missing drivers offered by Windows.
- After the Windows updates, type cmd in the search bar, open it as administrator, then type winget update --all and confirm with Enter.
- Finally, still in cmd, type sfc /scannow and let Windows run the check.
- There you go: you now have a lovely, clean OS.
